Travel tips
As we all know, Thailand is a part of Southeast Asia, and its capital “Bangkok” is one of the location people would travel to once in their life. To make your vacation and stay in Bangkok easier this blog would help you prepare and get to know Thailand like a local.
Almost every province in Thailand has an airport so it’s easy to travel, there are 2 airports in Bangkok which are Don Mueang International Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport both are connected to public transport like trains or bus. Which would me it easy to travel to your hotel.
Transportation can be quite a problem since most local taxis and tuk-tuks can be overpriced for foreigners sometimes, we suggest downloading GRAB application or Bus tracking application if you are in Bangkok. It would make your journey from place to place a lot easier and faster. Keep in mind that if you choose to travel via public bus you need to carry small bills or coins with you because most of them may not have any change for you if you pay with 1000 or 500 THB bill.
What to wear: To most travelers, the weather could be a problem during your trip since Thailand is hot and could be heavy raining during June-October. We would suggest packing some shorts and T-shirts, there is no need to bring hoodies or jackets here. Bring something you would feel comfortable wearing during summer.
How to handle the heat of Bangkok: Sunscreen could also be very useful since during the day you will be facing the sun and heat a lot to protect your skin, we suggest bringing SPF 50+ sunscreen along with you.
Rainy days: As mentioned earlier, rain can be one big problem while visiting Thailand, we suggest if you arrived during late May- October having an umbrella or raincoat is a life saver.
Mosquitoes: Another problem you may face is mosquitoes, so getting a spray or lotion can help you a lot. They are easy to find here since it’s a big problem for locals too.
FOOD: About food we are sure most of travelers know many Thai dishes but sometimes those dishes you heard of may not be what locals eat daily. We would like to recommend you go try food from small food stall, that’s the true taste of locals. Maybe try some snacks from 7-11 that you never heard of before, you might have some new favorite snacks.
Other than these are something very common like never drink tap water in Thailand, avoid scammers in popular attractions, always book activities you want to go before hand. This should help you wander around Bangkok a lot easier, next time I would recommend some food or places you must visit in Bangkok.
