Other than Thai cultural related festivals and a few non-cultural, Thailand also held and celebrate many festivals like countries around the world like Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and Valentines Day. Thailand also hosts many music festivals throughout the year, to show that outside of the rich cultural side Thailand can still be a fun play to visit. Here are a few of non-cultural related festivals we know of in Thailand.
Pattaya International Fireworks Festival
Pattaya International Firework Festival, a major annual event held on Pattaya Beach, Chonburi, Thailand. It is mostly held for 2 nights during November; in 2025 the festival is scheduled for November 28-29. The festival features international pyrotechnic teams around the world participating in or performing fireworks shows from the boats offshore that allow people to enjoy the beauty of fireworks along the beach. Other than fireworks shows, the festival provides live concerts by famous artists, lights and sounds surrounding you, food stalls, and souvenir shops.
The festival has won many awards including for emergency preparedness and risk management. It’s also recognized by the IFEA (International Festivals & Events Association). The fireworks festival is a big tourist drawing combined with local crowd, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
There are a few things you need to know about the festival before you participate such as the main location is along Central Pattaya Beach, and the start time is around 05.00 PM. Onward. Be careful if you are driving around Pattaya Beach during the festival, the road is typically blocked from late afternoon until midnight for both festival days to accommodate the crowds. Drones are also banned unless you have specially authorized
Be sure to book accommodation early, especially within walking distance to the beach road or Central Pattaya Beach to avoid traffic. They are fully booked quickly. And arrive early to get a good spot ahead of the crowds.

Thailand International Kite Festival
A colorful and family friendly festival showcases kite flying art, competition, and exhibitions with local and international participants. Usually held in coastal cities like Pattaya, Cha-am, or Hua Hin and held during cool and windy seasons around February or March for 3-5 days. The exact date is vary each year, the official schedule is announced by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
You can expect interesting kite flying competitions, international teams like Malaysia, Thailand, Japan. China, and India compete in 3 different categories:
- Fighter kites: combat battles flying kite to cut opponents kite strings
- Artistic kites: Choreograph competition with music
- Giant kites
But all in all, the main term used to decide the winner is still precision.
Kite displays and demonstrations are one of the main focuses of the festival, you can interact and learn how to make your own kite and learn how to fly one with basic techniques. LED-kite flying at night and Big traditional Thai kite designs create stunning memories and perfect for taking a picture of them.
Like most festivals it includes food stalls, music shows and kid zone with a smaller kite flying area and crafts.

Chiang Mai Flower Festival
The Flower Festival one of Thailand most beautiful festival, held in February during the full bloom and lasted for 3 days. Chiang Mai transforms into paradise with flower parades, artistic displays, pageants, and performances. This is a celebration of Chiang Mai identity as The Rose of the North.
If you are interested in the festival the main venue is Nong Buak Haad Public Park located in the southwest conner of the Old City. And if you want to experience the parades the route starts from Nawarat Bridge → Tha Pae Gate → Arak Road → ends at Nong Buak Haad Park.
What you will experience from the festival
1.The Grand Flower Parade
It starts on Saturday morning around 8:00-8:30 AM but if you intend to join make sure to arrive there by 7:30 for a perfect spot. The parades include over 25 elaborate floral floats, designs with numerous flowers like orchids, damask roses, marigolds, and local wildflowers. Accompanied by Lanna dancers, marching bands, and participants with colorful Thai costumes. There is also a beauty pageant fashion competition called Miss Chiang Mai Flower Festival.
2.Flower Garden Exhibitions
The main attraction of the festival, Nong Buak Haad Park, is transformed into a botanical wonderland filled with giant flower sculptures, bonsai contest, orchid houses and rare tropical flowers, and finally gardening demonstration by professionals.
3.Show and Performances
Since the event is in Chiang Mai there will be Traditional northern dance and music for visitors to experience. During the evening, it’s the time for live performances, folk songs, and local bands.
4, Market
It’s not a festival without good food and souvenir shops; in the market there will be a lot of flower shops to buy seeds, tools, and flesh flowers for your garden and decoration. You must try northern street foods in the market like Khao soi, Sai ua, and crispy pork skin.

- Bring foldable chairs or mats: you will need one during the parades.
- Arrive early for parades and a good spot.
- Avoid driving in Old City area.
- Carry a bottle of water, hats, and sunglasses with you.
