Location
The Krabi Meritime Hotel is located 155 km. from Phuket Airport, a two hour transfer by car. Phuket is serviced by regular daily flights from all over Asia. Transfers may also be arranged from Surat Thani, Trang and Hat Yai. Getting to the Krabi Meritime Hotel : (1) By Air : Several flights daily depart from Bangkok to Surat Thani and Phuket Airports. Flight time :1 hr 15 min. The 155 km transfer (2hrs) from Phuket or SuratThani is provided by the Krabi Meritime Hotel at a cost of 2,000 baht per car per one way trip. (2) By Train : Train service departs daily from Bangkok ,Hua Lampong station for SuratThani,Trang or Toong Song. Guests then transfer two hours from the train Station to Krabi. Joint train-bus tickets may be purchased from the State Railway of Thailand. The Krabi Meritime Hotel is also pleased to offer a pick up and dro-off service to any of the above rail stations at a fee of 2,000 baht per person per one way trip. Advance notice is required. (3) By Road : Air conditioned bus from Thonburi bus terrninal. Trip is 13 hours in duration and costs approx. 450 baht. Daily service leaves Bangkok at approximately 19.00 and 20.00 p.m.

Overall, we were very pleased with the Krabi Meritime. We were somewhat disappointed, however, with the food, and specifically with dinner. Breakfast was always excellent, but we had dinner at the hotel once, and we weren't very impressed with anything we ordered. Especially considering the price, it seems that the dinner cuisine could use some improvement. Yes, I would stay at the hotel again, and I would recommend it to others.

A beautiful site, with lovely rooms and nice grounds. Restaurant facilities were a bit limited, but this may be due to the season not having fully got underway. The free shuttle to Krabi town could do with being more frequent, or at least providing a return later than 20:15.

The hotel itself was very good, set in very peaceful surroundings - lake, mountains and rain forest which was very pretty and tranquil. A slight drawback was the distance from the beach (20 mins by shuttle bus) - I had not realised it was so far. In reality, we were happy by the pool, which was lovely, and only went to the beach on one day. Food was good but because of the hotel's isolation, there was not much to do, unless you headed out to Krabi town (see below) or Ao Nang beach (quite far and may be difficult to get transport back, although we didn't try this at night). The hotel shuttle was not very frequent and can get fully booked - something they need to look at (I heard some other guests complaining about this).
Service was acceptable but some staff were obviously new and in need of training. The hotel manager was not visible.
If you want peace, quiet and tranquil surroundings, then I would recommend the hotel. If you want nightlife, or even a moonlit stroll on the beach after dinner, then Ao Nang beach or even Phuket would be a better choice.
