I stayed here in 2001 when it was the Delta Grand Pacific. Nothing special, solid 3.5* room OK - paid $42 I recall. Nice Japanese restaurant in Hotel. Sits on top of Robinsons Dept Store. Good Thai massage just inside the Robinsons premises on ground floor. Good location as Skytrain is right outside.

I stayed on an upper floor room in April of 2003 for a few nights. Found the bed to be wonderful and the room as well. Great service but construction was still in progress. Price was about 80 US per night. No trouble bringing in a lady. No questions to me. Location is next to soi Coyboy.

We stayed in late 2002 and were impressed with the rooms. The best thing about the room was the duvet on the bed, not the usual heavy blankets/starchy sheets that many othes use. The included buffet breakfast was very extensive, covering most, if not all tastes. It was busy however, so either go early or about 30 minutes before closing.
staff were helpful and attentive, particularly the concierge who was very good/patient when asking him to find places and write their names in Thai for taxi drivers.
The only "oddity" is getting into the hotel...you have to take a lift a few floors up from a small ground level lobby up to the main reception. This is probably due to the hotel sitting on top of a large (Robinson) department store. The Tops supermarket in the basement is extremely useful for buying drinks and food for use in the room. Also, there's a money changer at the main entrance to Robinson which is very handy. Be warned though that they can run out of money and close if they 've been busy !
Now that the hotel has been rebranded as a Westin (and prices have gone up) I just hope they've managed to keep the good standard.
